JOKE #220: KAREN NEEDED HELP WINNING

Karen, a Christian woman, was down on her luck.

She was broke, out of work, and struggling to provide for her family on her husband's meagre wage. So she decided to pray to God for assistance. "Dear God", she prayed one evening, "please let me win the jackpot in this month's lottery. I promise I'll give some of my winnings to the Church."

Later that month, the lottery results rolled around and unfortunately, she hadn't won. By this time her life had took a turn for the worse. Her husband had left her high and dry, and she was going deeper and deeper into debt. Her electricity had been cut off, her kids were starving and things were getting extremely tough. "Please, God", she prayed again, "please let me win the lottery next month. If you let me win, I promise I'll do good and help others for the rest of my life. I really need a break here."

The next month, the lottery results rolled around once more and again, she was out of luck. By this time, she was really desperate. She was no longer able to pay the rent on her home and if she didn't come up with the money by the end of the week, she and her children would become homeless. This had been her last chance, and God had failed her.

She prayed again: "Dear God, WHY won't you let me win the lottery?! My children and I are going to lose our home! I'm a devout Christian and I've been nothing but a good person my whole life, why must you test me like this? Please have a heart! Let me win the lottery!"

Suddenly, a booming voice came out of the sky.

"Work with me, Karen. BUY A TICKET!"
